The story of Hart Family Hotels is one of legacy, passion, and hands-on experience. Founded in 2012 by Troy Hart, the company builds on a rich family tradition that began with M.W. Hart Inc., which managed, developed, and consulted on hotels across the Midwest for over 34 years. This deep-rooted history shapes everything Hart Family Hotels does, reflecting a commitment to quality and personalized service that runs through generations.
Troy grew up in the hotel business, gaining firsthand knowledge in every role. After earning a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from South Dakota State University, he spent 15 years working alongside his father, learning the ins and outs of the industry. In 2011, Troy took a bold step by purchasing his first hotel independently. That experience inspired him to start Hart Family Hotels, bringing a fresh, yet grounded approach to hotel management and development.
Today, Hart Family Hotels owns multiple properties and is actively growing across Iowa. The company’s success is built on a foundation of Midwestern values—trust, integrity, and a genuine dedication to guests and partners alike. The Hart family story is more than business; it’s about continuing a tradition of hospitality excellence that welcomes every guest like family.
